Many might remember the upset experienced by Yankees nation in 2004 when Boston came back in a series that they were three games down to win the World Series. It has been called by many to be the biggest upset in the history of baseball. Never before had a team that was three games down come back to win the World Series. And what made it better was the two teams involved, THE rivalry in baseball.
Now this year, having been 14 games behind the Red Sox at one time, I see what could be a bigger upset in baseball. IF the Yankees were able to make it to the playoffs, which they probably will, and did beat the Red Sox and won the World Series, what could that do to the rivalry. Since 2004, the Sox Nation has been able to rub that in the face of the Yankees, being almost the only thing they can use against them considering the luck of the Red Sox in their quest for the Championship. If this were to happen, how sweet would it be for the Yankees fans out there?
